tractor club insurance

Just wondering what you guys that belong to tractor clubs do for club liability insurance. Does it cover you on tractor rides? I know that each tractor should have it's own insurance, but does your club also carry an insurance policy as you are hosting the ride? What about your plow days or threshing days? I belong to a club and there are some concerns as to liability.

We have an event policy, that covers anyone except the puller.Spectators, and workers but not the actual puller. We have a million dollar policy, covers 6 pulls a year, costs around $250.00 a year.

Our pulling club pays $300 per pull. We also have liability insurance the projects the members of the board which is and additional $600 per year. We might make some money on our pulls if we only had to pay $250 per year...

just a bunch of people getting together and ride some tractors get sued for what you are all responsible for your tractor. Your club has no legal assets or anything so how can you be taken to court for anything. It is not illegal to drive a tractor down a public road as long as the driver and state laws are practiced so just why do you need insurence just an excuse for someone to sue for what.

We use EDGETA.Our club pays $13 per member/family annually. NONmembers pay a $10'hookfee' to cover insurance cost. We 'eat' the extra $3.We get (Ithink) a million dollar liability/personal injury coverage.

All I can say takes two words ..... "Good Luck" if something happens. And welcome to the soup kitchen if things go downhill from there.

EDGETA...Covers our club members in any of our "scheduled & published" club events, including plow and pulling days, tractor cruises, parades, displays, etc. If our members freelance without club sponsorship, they are on their own insurance. We also have legal beagles reviewing any issues that flirt with litigation possibilities.

The yearly membership is around 45 dollars a year and that covers us at the pulls if something should go wrong.

We use EDGETA. All members of your club must belong. You can't have non-EDGETA members in your club. Also, to be a club function, (EDGETA covered)it must be in the minutes of the meeting. All covered events must be discussed (mentioned) at you meetings. It does not cover any loading, unloading or travel to function.
