Ugh. Saw where a 77? Year old on a jd 4430 and round baler was ran over by an 18 wheeler in South Alabama last week or so. Think I read that he did not make it.

My roll over was on a JD front deck mower,Rops but no belt. When I got under it to turn off the engine it was setting on the roll bar with all three blades spinning. I was fine, but the new mower has a working roll bar and seatbelt.

No "or" to this. Seat belt goes with a ROPS to keep the operator inside the ROPS. No ROPS = no seatbelt, that gives you a chance of being thrown clear. That is the common instructions from safety professionals.
Well how does this "thrown clear" business actually work. That is something that was common to hear before seat belts came into common use, but very little in modern times.

Make that ROPS AND A SEATBELT! ROPS is only effective if also properly belted in.
Absolutely! one is no good without the other. The seat on my tractor was replaced by previous owner, no seat belt, so ROPES is folded down. I did have my rear tires set out another 6" when they filled them with WW fluid. Tractor feels much more stable on hillsides now.
