Tractor for pulling bush hog

A bush hog type mower should not be level but set at a slight upward angle, so the blades cut only once. If the angle is slightly down, the blades will cut the twice, once at the front, then again at the back.

Huh? What? Photoshop? Is that hay rake connected to the tedder to be pulled behind in tandem? Or have I been into the alcohol too much this weekend? Inquiring minds need to know....
Will this help? I can see the tongue jack is down on the rake, so I doubt it is hooked up.

Does it do ok with the 5 footer? Another option would be to mow it with the 5 footer, if it will run that to get it down then maintain it with the 80". A high and a low pass with the 80", or one pass making a regular cutting with the 5 footer. Time and fuel likely won't be much different.
Yeah it does, I could do that!

The 444 should handle that just fine. I ran a 6' 3 pt brush hog with my 2424 for a few years and it mowed 6' tall goldenrod in the fall with no issues. Finding a drawbar for it could be a challenge. I have one for mine but it was customized and cobbled up by some prior user, so I took it off. No idea if you can find a replacement.
I’m going Monday to a tractor salvage yard, hopefully they’ll have one.

I would be afraid to put a 70 hp tractor on a 6ft brush hog. I think you would tear it to pieces. Aren't most 6 footers designed for a 40-50 hp tractors?

The tedder was a new purchase and I had parked it in front of the rake
Photo was from 2022 when every piece of haying equipment I owned broke
