Your tractors must be gold plated. I guess if you want to pay that much its ok. Any adjuster will check prices against what your tractor is worth at the time of any claim. I would come down on the value some and save some bucks. I have mine insured for 10,000 and it cost me about 90 a year. Check with antique auto insurance people. Your regular agent should know somebody to contact.

I use "Haggerty" insurance. They are leaders in antique car insurance and now have collector tractor insurance also. It"s worked for me for quite a few years, very reasonable prices also. JimO

they are not gold plated but close i am just trying to make sure i have them insured and would be happy to get somethign that is very close to what i have and also into them...

I agree, what we "have in" a tractor has little to do with what it is worth in many cases, especially to an insurance company.
I have never seen a 730 bring near $35,000. I thought around $15,000 was about top price for an excellent one properly restored and with most options.

I carry $22,500.00 coverage on 2 of my tractors through Farm Bureau and pay $79.00 a year. Covers fire, theft, overturn, wind, hail and so on. BTW, I am an insurance adjuster and, as stated already, we do check the values and pay what it's worth (not what you have in it).

I've gotten collector's insurance in past. I was always asked how much coverage I wanted, and was charged accordingly. We'd agree to a value, and work from there. If I wanted $3000 coverage, then I paid a certain premium. If I wanted $10,000 coverage, I paid a lot MORE premium. As far as I know, that's is how most insurance companies work when covering classics, antiques, etc. And I assume there will be a cap, and most companies are not going to let you put $20,000 on a tractor that might be worth $3000 when actually put up for sale.

General insurance, like household usually workes differently, but even then there are usually options. Coverage can cover repair, value at time of loss, or new replacement - and again the premium will vary accordingly.

My equipment is insured, but the insurance coverage stops if it's loaded on a trailer.

Something to check on.

Paul

Your looking for a "stated value" type of policy. If something happens to the more expensive ones the insurance company would exercise their right to repair the tractor rather than just cash it out . I wrecked a much cheaper tractor- it was settled under my farm owners policy, they paid the repair no problem.
