Empty, flat ground, regular state hwy, 62mph:

24.3 MPG

25' gooseneck double axle, 4-bottom plow, M-M U Standard Diesel Special, supplies, up and down along the Mississippi from NW of Debuke, IA to Benton Harbor, MI:

14.5 MPG

225,000 miles and running strong since 2005. Ugly as sin and won't die. $3500

Yes, I'm boasting.

03-F250 5.4 gas 4x4 3.73 gears Auto trans 265X16 tires also pulling a 20+5 gooseneck hauling short of 6000 lbs. 9 mpg If a lot of hills 8.5. I know the mileage isn't great but it is quiet! My neighbor said if Diesels were standard in pickups, farmers would pay 7000 extra for quiet ones. Vic

empty 19.9 , it's the last time I checked . Loaded with 10k on deck and a 6k gooseneck I get 11 . 96 dodge, 12 valve dually , total weight would be 24k .

94 Chev 2500 with 6.5 diesel turbo. 18.5 empty. 16.5 with skid steer trailer and 2500lb tractor on back. Same rig with same trailer with 77 Oliver and a thousand pound of weights trying to get up to highway speed probably 8.5... 6.5T's have a lot of torque but not at highway speed. Its a daily driver but still gets me to the pulls on the weekends. Cant complain when I bought the truck for $3300 I guess.

(quoted from post at 18:19:46 10/07/11) You can't beat those old powerstrokes!!!

97 dodge 2500 4x4 5 speed
(before 35" tires) 22.3 mpg empty ~15 loaded with gooseneck

Oh, and more than 500 hp

04 LB7 Duramax/allison. Truck and trailer weighs 13,250 without load. Truck by itself gets about 16-18 (depends on day). With 12,500# tractor or 7-8ton of hay gets 10-11 mpg. Truck has 5" exhaust and is stock. Not too bad, would like more power at times but dont want to replace transmission. Older trucks are cheaper though, no doubt. 98-02 24V cummins are also pretty tough, especially with 6 speed.

97 dodge 1 ton 4x4 cummins auto 190,000, 6030 JD weighing 13,000 with 6,000 lbs. trailer. 5 mpg! I need new injectors and a valve check! LOL

03 duramax with 6 speed standard. bone stock! 24 mpg empty, 17 loaded with a 18,000 gvw gooseneck and my 4430 on it. total loaded truck and trailer weight, 22,100 with just a driver and no passenger.

gmc 8.1 2500, empty and being really really nice to it on the highway 13.5-14. normal driving 11.5-12mpg. loaded with a 7000lb camper or 20,000lbs of tractor and trailer....about 8mpg at best, depending on the hills, or if i'm running 75 mph in the interstate.

but it is a nice smooth quiet ride, and the 8.1/ally combo runs real nice, and was about10k cheaper than the same d-max when i got it.

jim, i have the tractor stripped down for pulling. it only weighs 10,680. that weigh slip i got was from a certified scale. we have the truck combonation weighted for 22,000. the max we could get. so we are legal, but at the max

1988 Ford F-350 crew cab with 460-5 speed-4.10 gears.

10 mpg empty at 70 mph
8-9 mpg with empty trailer at 65 mph
6-8 mpg at 60 mph with 6000 lb pulling tractor on 5000 lb trailer.

Have lots of friends with nearly new 3500 Dodges and Ford F-350's....Most are getting under 10 mpg pulling trailers with 5000-10000 lb pulling tractors....Their older trucks got 12-15 mpg pulling the same loads..

I think we have a winner :D It's hard to beat a Dmax, I seen pretty much identical results when hauling an 830 home from MI.

02 f250 extended cab 8ft box 7.3 powerstroke 4wd bone stock no chip or anything 21 empty 16 with jd a weighted for 6500 behind it 6 speed manual

Jason: Hows the tractor been running? Thats pretty light for a cab tractor. Are tires 20.8-34? U also running an intercooler off a 4630? How has it been doing compared to its competition? Did you ever pull with steel city pullers? My tractor is down, it needs a clutch and some hydraulic work.
