Tractor Stores

Planning a shopping trip next week(nov.19) to Maine and New Hampshire. Tractor supply stores, these are on my shopping trip list's for whatever I don't realy know. My question is I don't know of the location or if they even exist in this part of the area where we are going shopping. Could anyone give information as to TSC or any of these that sell tractor parts pieces etc. Cheers, Murray

TSC has an online store locator that should locate stores near where you're going. I'd google "agricultural supply stores" with the names of the cities/states you're going. Have fun.

Just a word of caution: Unless you have a small Ford N series, you'll probably be severly disapionted with what they actually have for tractor parts. They're catalog may be big, but what they stock in the average store is minimal.

We've had our TSC for about 3 years now and I have gotten some things from them, but I'd rather drive another 10 miles to go to Mill's Fleet Farm. They actually have a lot of things that we need and are more knowlegable about what they have.

Just to add to that, if you've been in one TSC store, you've been in all of them, and if you want the good stuff, don't go shopping at TSC or for that matter at any farm and home type of store. They are OK for common hardware items and feed for your horse, but that is just about the extent of it.

Thanks for the information. TSC stores must be something like the Princess Auto Stores in Canada. So I won't be disappointed, now that I have received sensible answer's. Note: one of the tractors is an 8n another Ferguson of the same vintage, when the going gets rough the best place to get parts is the dealer, experience has taught me this lesson. If anything that anyone thinks might be interesting regarding old tractors send me an email. Actually I am only going as the driver, so I should not get too involved in old tractors. Murray: Ah ha, so your taking a bunch of women or old folks on a Christmas shopping trip. I understand there is a good tractor salvage yard in Western Maine near the NH border. I am e mailing right now with a guy from NH, who's been telling me about this establishment, giving it quite a buildup. If you want I can find out more particulars, exact location , etc.

Hi Hugh,Yes would appreciate if you could find out more information on the salvage yard. We had planned on making a trip to Ontario this fall didn't have time so will plan again in the spring. Carole has relatives from N.S. who have made their home in Ont. for several years, so cannot keep putting off these visits. I will be 70 in January and usually keep thinking that these trps can be put off until later, but have to admit that we are now the OLD PEOPLE, I always go with the idea that their are projects at home to be completed, they usually can wait until later. Tsc just opened a store in Skowhegan Me, While they are thin on some items They are heavy in hydraulics and Hitch parts.Their pitman sticks are 1/2 the price of our CHN dealer.I bought heavy steel fence posts for 3.39 each.I needed to replace a few I put in 40 years ago.They stock heavy in tractor tires.Good stock on batteries,even 6 volt.I bought a 16 speed drill press, floor model for 140.00.Its best to check out a store in person before making judgements.I get emails from them on sales.
