Tractor Tire Plugging?

If I fill my tubeless rear tires with a mixture of anti-freeze and water, can a puncture be plugged like with an automobile tire? :?:

The tire needs to be dry before the glue will set up. Most rear tractor tires have inner tubes, and those plugs do not work very well in tube type tires.

The ubbrella style plug can be used from the inside to repair a hole and keep debris out of the inside. The tube must be patched or replaced to assure it will maintain integrity. Jim

If the tire is tubeless.
Give it a try - I have a rear tire on my Deere that's been holding for 2 or 3 years now. Had to use 2 plugs to seal it. I always spray the area with leak finder when I'm done fixing , just to make sure it is holding.

I am referring to "tubless" tires. I have not added a mixture yet, but was just wondering If I would have to deal with the liquid draining and refilling should I have a puncture.

Giles The plugs are sticky and that helps hold them in place. With water or antifreeze in the hole probably not. I have worked on a lot of tubless tires with fluid in them. Most of the time if they are broken down to repair, air gets to the rim and then the rims start to rust.

Maybe if you turned the hole to the very top so it could dry enough for the glue to stick. Then leave it for half an an hour or longer so the glue completey dries.

We plugged one successfully on our JD 4600 when it
was only about 3 years old, no fluid. Took us a long
time to find it as it was a very slow leak and it
was in the side wall. They are Titan wide bar
industrial tires and it seemed like a small flaw
from manufacture, dealer wouldn't do anything about
it.
