Anyone bought tires lately?

I called yesterday and got prices;

For my A;
15” rims tires and tubes, $55ea,$42ea,$8ea = $210
11.5-34 rear tires and tubes $370 ea, $50ea = $840

For my 60
15.5-38 tires and tubes $410ea, $50 ea = $920
6-16 tires and tubes $50, $10 = $120

For the 4010 to get the rim back for the 60
18.2-38 tire and tube $450, $60 = $510

After crying for a little while about spending near $3,000 on tires for 2 $500 tractors I called back and said to go ahead with the order, today I called him back for some other stuff and he said he called to order the tires this morning and the prices have went way up overnight! He is going to call around some more and try to find a better deal. Any of yall bought tires lately or know where is a good place to look?

Best tractor tire prices I got were from Tucker Tire (out of Tenn. I believe it was). Good prices, good shipping rates (of course that was before gas and diesel fuel became liquid gold) and really nice people to work with. LOL

I prefer getting some stupid bald tires and building a stupid set of chains to put on them.

Well, I hate to admit it but I tried local Deere dealers and most of them pawn it off to other companies or bring someone in. I tried online but shipping prices killed me. I broke down and called my local New Holland (Ford) dealer and found good prices. Titan 3 rib 5-15's are only $41.80 and rear 12.4 X 38 are $345.45. Hoping to reuse rear tubes (no fluid in them) and found a place that will take rear tires off for $20 and remount for $20 after I paint the rims. Fronts are $10 to take off and remount. So, for my B they are $774.50 just for the tires and another $100 for mounting all 4 (if my tubes don't get ruined in the process). And my Chevy has a gas 8.1L in it so you can figure $30 to $40 in my fuel to do all the running.

Know how you feel..got 2 new rear tires for my G in January...almost a grand with the new tubes!! Had to put a new set on my 2002 Crown Vic ford almost 750!~!! Just driving a LOT less and trying to hang on!! There is a local show about 18 miles from here that I HOPE to be able to drive my G to as I am in a subdivision and have NO means of hauling it!! BUT I do get to keep the tractor because I can fit it and the 2 cars in my garage!! Charles

Just purchased Titan Hi-Traction Lug in a 16.9-38 for JD 2940 $400 per tire around $40 for tubes each, $120 for road service(done on farm) included install and fluid transfer to new tires.

I'm a Tennessean and really like the guys at Tucker Tire. They are more than friendly and have fantastic prices on tires, but many of their tires are China built and very poor quality.

My son and I are restoring a 49 B for an FFA project. I'm money he's muscle, kinda. We called Titan and got 2-5.50 16 6 ply and 2-13.6 38 12 PLY FOR FREEEEEEEEE. They didn't even charge shipping!!!! Dropped off right here at the farm. Of course I have over 4 grand in it thus far but what a help. The more I look at them the better they would look on my 530. Titian does this often with some guide lines for the FFA students to follow.

I have done business with Buddy and the the Tucker Tire Store for more years than i care to recall.Yes they do sell some cheap built Chinese tires but,they also sell most all name brand tires built today.They are a full service company servicing all tires that fit everything from pushcarts to Terex Dumptrucks.You get what you pay for if you want cheap Chinese junk they will sell it to you.But if you want to pay for quality they have that also.

Just paid $1,012.00 for 2 11.2X36 + Tubes, 2 5X15 + tubes, and 2 6X16 + tubes (All Firestones) back in June. Dealer told me all their tires were going up 10% at beginning of July. Glad I got them when I did.

Yup, I pass through Sawdust any time I go to Columbia. It's a nice little 45 MPH speed trap. I've gotten a fast driving award from there before from my friendly state policeman.

a few years back, i decided that i would collect tractors with steel wheels. they are unique where i live, which was one of the reasons i made the decision i did. and now i see i have more reasons to celebrate. i still have a few with tires though but thankfully i bought new tires for them when they were restored.
i agree with the comment on the chinese tires, they are junk, stay away from them.

I've called Tiretown & Nebraskatire [spelling] many times in the past & they are always out of 2'nd , used or any other bargins...local dealer can beat them hands down...tires not cheap...just paid $515 for Titan S/L bar 15.5 X 38 & $82 for heavy duty tube....Kent
