Tractors on TV

Just wanna pass this on, so you can be aware, I have Dish Network (satelight) and they have a farm channel called RFDTV . They have tractor related shows, usually week nights at 7pm cst . Last week I saw a clip of a 9N with a rear loader and hay forks . Pretty cool stuff! Direct TV has this too.

I have heard about this and have considered Dish or Direct, just don't know which way to go. I get about six "Best deal ever" offers from each of them a month. I figure whichever one you go with they will snag you at a low price then keep going up every chance they get...I'm open for suggestions/experiences..Thanks

I've got Dish Network, used to be available on channel 9409 with the cheapest package "America's top 100" for $32.99.
It is no longer available 'till you go with the "America's top 200" for $44.99 / month. Now on channel 231.

Does that mean that they both will rip you anew one so have the credit card ready??

From what I gather that's pretty much the case. Shame is, cable ain't much better pricewise.
Still they all beat climbing that dogwood tree to turn the antenna everytime we wanted to change one of the three channels we used to get!

I've had both Dish and Direct tv. For my money, there is no comparison. Dish would go down for many excuses: too cloudy, too sunny etc. We had several of there "LMB" modules - or whatever they called them, but they could never get it working. After yet another run-in with their tech non-support. I called Direct and they had it installed and running faster than Dish would schedule an appointment for service.
Just my thoughs.

Thanks. I don't need it...On second thought I'm paying $38 per month for cable and get several channels but nothing to watch..Not a lot of down time but the picture quality varies. If it turns cold the picture gets bad(old cracked contracting wires I assume) Might just have it all disconnected and buy $40 more sleeping pills per month and go to bed earlier..

I got direct, and put it on the wall of the house under the over hang no problens for 11 or 12 years now,,comecast cable goes down the other side of the road and they would not hook me up. and now I got the direct-way dish for my computer too,,thats what you got to do out in the boonedocks, beats dial-up by a mile---you get what you pay for

I have Dish network with the top 200 or 250 package. I had to get the better one if I wanted to get the few channels that I like to watch. I like educational channels. I hate NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX. It's all garbage TV. I heard once that our Gov. was trying to change what ever they change. so we could buy only the channels we want, but I see that did'nt go too far. I don't need or want 100 blank screen music channels.I have a radio and CD player. I dont want several home shopping channels, The first and only time I watched Home Shoppin Network, I bought a fricking guitar the other night. (What the hells wrong with me?) I already have 2 good guitars. I don't want to watch people cook food that I cant even pronounce let alone cook. I've seen enough forensic detective shows, that now, all my friends are suspects. And maybe I am psychic. I can usually tell when something I'm doing isnt going to go right even before I get it done. I would'nt be afraid to be a ghost hunter, cause I aint gonna see anything anyway! Just hafta make sure your nose is clean for them nasal cam night vision cameras. Oh well had to vent a little. Yea, RFD TV does have classic tractors and you can see some good tractor shows from around the country.

You have struck a hot button with me. I had a 12' dish that I could get a-la-carte programming on for years. Cost me about $20/month. Many of the channels went digital and are only available in a package now. I REFUSE to pay for 200-300 channels when I am only interested in 10-15. Have complained to the FCC and our elected officals with nothing but lip service on changing this.

In the long run it's probably is better that I don't have cable/dish as I would spend more time watching the boob tube! JMHO
