I"m trying to decide between a Gatormade Elite 14k gooseneck or a PJ 14k gooseneck. The gator has wide ramps and seems heavier built but the PJ costs less. Anyone here have any experience with either of these? pros and cons.

It is a tough decison between weight of the trailer, and how it will hold up. They can build them very sturdy, but all of that extra weight is subtracted from your total load capacity so it means that you legally haul less weight.
On the other hand, the lighter the trailer, the more load capacity, but may not have the trailer to handle it.
Do not listen to most trailer sellers unless you know them real well, they are selling trailers and really do not care what you load on it after you own it.
I saw a 30 foot dual tandem that a guy had saved a little money on. They left out the torque tube to cut cost. The bed would tip deep when loading stuff near the front.

I have a 14,000lb PJ, and I regularly haul 14,400lbs of hay on it. Have since 2004, and the trailer is still like new. (Keep it inside most of the time) Wouldn't even blink at the thought of buying another PJ trailer.

I have a 14000 PJ as well. Decent trailer amd Ive heard the powder coating and wiring has improved since I bought mine. I guess I'd buy another PJ, but I have heard good things about the gator as well. If you are planning to be at legal weight of lighter all the time I'd recommend the PJ. If you feel your trailer is going to regularily be loaded over specified weight, I'd consider the heavier built one.

I don"t know anything about the Gator, but I do have a 14k PJ gooseneck and have been happy with it. Regularly haul 2 narrow front tractors (JD A, B or Allis WD45). Or load it with hay.

I have a Gatormade GN with tandem axles. Everyone that looks at it, wants one. Heavier made than PJ. 4 years old and no problems. I haul equipment and hay.

I have a five year old 22,400 PJ which has for most of its miles been loaded near max. It pulls well, stops OK, no wearing issues. My only complaint would be the powder coating, but maybe they have improved on that.

I bought a new 20+5 gator trailer almost a year ago. I like the trailer but i did not go with the elite series. One reason was the price the 2nd was the big bulk head on the front of it. I figured that you would not be able to see any of your load on the trailer. I ordered mine with 3 ramps and dual jacks with a toolbox between them and a spare tire. Think I had 5050.00 in the trailer its a good trailer but had some runs in the paint. other than that I really like it.

ive got a pro trak, seems to be a decent trailer for the money. I did actually like the look of the gator with the deluxe, the headache rack with lights built in and toolbox, it was just a couple of thousand more than my protrak. They have a dealer in KY and are based out of texas.
