transmision ratios

my 63 super dexta has wrong ratio for 3rd and 4th gears 3rd gear is faster than 4th have to use 4th gear for everything 3rd is to fast for mowing or plowing has anyone ever had this problem

Perhaps someone in the past had it apart and mixed up the gears if that is possible.

Three speed with hi/lo, right? There is no "fourth" gear, just 3L and 1H. Does it really matter that 1H is slower than 3L?

My IH 2444 is the same way. 1 High is faster than 4 Low. From slow to fast the gear selection is:
1 L - 2 L - 3 L - 1 H - 4 L - 2 H - 3 H - 4 H.
