The main drive shaft to the transmission on the unit that I have torn apart has various sleeves and stuff that are supposed to slide on the power shaft. I am taking it apart to put new bearings in it. (it is in an oliver). The sleeves are seized to the shaft and will not move to allow me to pull the haft out so I can get the bearings in. I have been soaking if for a few days. Do you think that I will get anywhere by applying heat? Do any harm?

First of all what model tractor is this. Is this the top shaft in the transmission. Most of them have a snap ring that yo need to take out of the groove first.

It is the top shaft. With difficulty, I finally got the snap rings out but the pieces will not sdlide on the shaft.
