I have one. No rocker arms, or valve cover. I dont know where to find the stock parts, but if someone did it right, they would have a full roller rocker setup built for it. Its been match ported to the gasket, you would have to match port your manifold. If you have never seen one I have pictures. ChadS

Chad,

Thanks for answering. I have an LP intake which should be big enough for the head. Im using an exhaust manifold off an 806 as was the intake. Are the valves and springs good in the head. I have a set of roller rockers from Murphy's ready to go. Let me know if you think it is a good set up. Also how much do you want for the head. I have a head on now off 301 which has had the combustion chamber enlarged, has titanium valve guides and stainless steel valves. Also has heavy duty racing springs. Would you want to trade. Will the truck head give me more power in your opinion.

Thanks,

Kevin

If the roller rockers fit the 263-301, they wont fit the truck head. The rocker off a M farmall,, straighten em out in a press, they will work. Without the stock rocker assembly for this style head, your still looking at building a custom stand and shaft to use a M style rocker arm. Once again, M stands can work, I got to to the point to where I had all the M rockers straightened out, had it all mocked up but it got set aside, but no, it would not be hard to custom make the rocker arm assembly, if a stock one can not be found. JMHO.

Both heads use the same valve, take everything off the 301 head and put it in the truck head. It updates the keeper style, and the 301 exhaust valves had rotators, the truck heads did not.

In my opinion, if the home work was done right, it could bring a stock engine 10-15 hp, and as much as 25 more at higher rpm say 2500-4000rpm. You cannot port a tractor head as big as the truck head, the ports are bigger, taller. It will breathe alot better. thats just the ports, the compression chamber,,, well,, it boosts up cyl pressure!! Chad,

Murphys has a rocker arm designed specifically for the truck head. Its a totally different rocker arm and stand than a tilt valve setup.

I talked to my Pap today about this. He may have 1 or 2 to sell. He is going to look and let me know. Do you have a particular casting number you are looking for?

Thanks,
Brad

Try this again. click the link. If the picture works, notice I have laid the stock intake/exhaust gasket on the head. I left one port undone to show you where it was, and were it is now. Intake ports are stock but deburred. I left the intake ports alone,, figured, Id be there a week a port to open a tractor head up like this, so Id try it the way it was and go from there. But the exhaust side ofthe 301 heads are whats killing the power,,, just look at the gasket and look at the port,, Id like to have $550 and shipping. ChadS

The new style set up with the rotators are alot better than what they had stock. Stock they had none, but I like the new style retainer clips VS the old ones, thats the only reason for the recomendation. They also suggest using flat top pistons only with this style head, but a tuned 301 piston will fit. ChadS

I have a complete head ,valve cover , rockers , push rods, head bolts . I would take $850.00 for it , plus shipping . Good luck finding a valve cover, as they are smaller than later head . Also have head, springs ,valves and valve cover to sell for $750.00 plus shipping from N.E.Pa. Also have a head that low hours that got water in it that would be ideal for porting for $650.00, no valve cover or rockers. 570-265-2995 evenings.
