Unavoidable biodiesel - additive options?

As a STO without a large need for fuel, I buy all of my fuel between October and March. That way I always have 5% bio blend in my tanks. Buy the fuel for winter use in Oct-Nov. Buy fuel for summer use before April. Never again do I want to be caught with 20% going into winter.
I can understand that.

I think a 2-5% blend is a good thing. At 20% it certainly is another thing to manage in these cold climates!

I bought a combine at an auction 60 miles away years ago. Hopped in to start the drive home, and the previous owner said “it might have kinda bad fuel in it from the bottom of the barrel, I didn’t realize when I put some in.”

I’m glad he mentioned it so I knew why I had to pull over every 10 miles and clean out the sediment screen as the engine starved for fuel. But, jeepers what a bother to deal with all that!
