Hello all. i have this tractor on the front of my property. we have had it for years but i have just now gained an intrest in fixing it up, having just finished our 9n and td-6 this is the next one in line. i think its an Allis Chalmers givin the orange paint that lies under the yellow. but i cannot find any marks telling its brand or model, any help?

Put a picture of it in the help identify section of the galleries. E-mail me a copy if you are having trouble and I'll put it up Some general descriptions would help. Hand or foot brakes, how many gears, size of tires, etc all help a lot as well. You can also look at the tractor pics in the galleries to see if something looks the same.

a few pix would help members ID the tractor.

when you say "... under the yellow" could it be an industrial, or a tractor previously owned by a goverment entity ?

more clues are needed

i have more photos if needed

Can not tell for sure if it is an Allis or not. Could be a B but your pictures do not show it real well and if it is a B it is a high crop B not a run of the mill B. If it is in fact a B the serial number is just forward of the shifter and will start with a B. But the seat does not look right and there is something about the steering that look odd to me also

for sure you have an A-C Probably B possilbly C serial # is on the trans. in front of the shifter will tell if B or C

That tractor is a CA. It has what looks like either cutoffs or something different for rear rims. To me it liiks like another tractor rims that were steel wheels that were cutoff and the rumbber added. I would think that a real nice Allis Chalmers tractor. it should have snap coupler attachment on the rear. Worth restoring in my opinion. Good luck.

ed is right, it is a CA. You can tell by the steering rod to the front end, and the seat. THe rear tires should be 24 inch rims... THey look to be 28 or 32 inch and the front axle has been modified.. You have a HI-CROP version or homeade version of that.

check if it is a 4 speed trans. THe CA is a 4 speed. If it is a C it will be a 3 speed. It has CA parts, but they could have been installed on the C.

that is great to know. where would i might find the serial #? there are part numbers all over so i do not know what is the serial or a part number

Some modification has been done to that front end, possibly an aftermarket WFE, or a homemade one. Whole tractor is the usual shape that they get in, after people chop them up, and put them back together, at will. Definitely narrowed down to model B,C,CA. Not sure of much more than that.

I would guess that you live in CA or the tractor came from there....a lot were modified that way for use in California vegetable fields.

It looks like a Hi crop CA. It has the CA torque tube and I see the front of the grille has the cultivator mounts. Fairly rare, being a hi crop. The standard Ca is fairly easy to get parts for. Good luck with your restoration.
I have 3 Ca's, great little tractor

Looks like CA Power-Shift rear wheels, with brackets welded to the 24 inch rims to mount larger diameter skinny tires. Seat support is original to CA. Front cult mount lugs are visible. Snap-Coupler hitch was not standard at first, so yours may not have one. Serial numbers are always stamped- raised numbers you see on various parts are casting numbers.
