USAP pull this saturday.

Our first pull of the season will be this saturday at 3:00pm at John Lampkin's farm in Philpot, KY. Hope to see all our old friends and some new ones as well.

Also to address some phone calls about rules.
In Superfarmstock.
1. Aluminum wheels are not allowed front or rear.
2. Front wheel/tires no smaller than 14" and should be of tractor/implement type.
3. NO aluminum trans covers, or other aluminum except for wheight brackets, seat support, or wheelie bars.
4.Tires: NO larger than a 15.5/14.9 tire is allowed!! this means NO 16.9/30, 16.9/34, or 16.9/38 are allowed. This also goes for the old numbering system as well a 13/30,34,38 is as big as is allowed. 14 size tires were replaced by the 16.9 and 15 size tires were replaced by the 18.4. So that means 14/30,34,38 are not allowed, and 15/30,34,38 are not allowed. the only 16.9 allowed is a 16.9/24 or 28.
5. NO homemade front axles are allowed.
And for all classes.
Engines: Gk135(this is the big 425ci engine not the 320) waukesha is not allowed in Oliver in ANY class.. it WILL not bolt in without modifying the frame Also 6 cylinder AC diesels from the 180 and newer are not allowed in ANY class.. it WILL not bolt in without modifying the frame.
With the exception of the oliver 70 ALL Olivers must have a Waukesha engine. NO! Hercules, 292 chevy, 300 ford.

That is all the grandstanding for now. Sorry for the long post. We have had very few issues over the past ten years and we want it to continue that way. Those of you that have pulled with us know we are about as easy going as can be.

it is hard to believe people are afraid of a littleold 78 horse power allis engine that will bolt to the bellhousing and frame all you have to do is make room far the front pulley in the bolster area kind of like a diamond engine in a red tractor or a perkins in a oliver our a 800 in a moline looks like usap will loose a few hooks fees in southern ill area

perkins are not allowed in an oliver either.
the 6cyl allis motor is not 78hp it is 100hp from what i was told and it requires cutting out the frame on the left side to fit. one was brought to a pull last year and it is definetly obvious. maybe i messed up on the model number. i will double check on that mike.

301 allis with a turbo 100 horse in a ac 200 301 with out turbo 75 80 horse ,front bolster is all that needs to be modified it is not pretty but still has power steering have you ever looked at my brothers d17 been pulling with usap with it for 3 years know hate to see it get banned it is a cheap redneck build geuse he will have to spend some money on a big engine to be competitive like in natpa

What other classes are there? If so what kind of rules do you have for them? I have pulled USAP in several states over several years and have never heard of super farm rules like that, maybe they were never brought up just new rules to me?

So your going to turn away a stock 1850 Oliver? What about the guys that run a Super 99 or a 990? Looks like they can't have any fun either. Interesting rules.

Not that I can make the pull, but I assume that an Oliver Super 99 can run the 3-71 Detroit Diesel. The rest seems pretty clear cut.

our rules like most others are 1959 and older. so an 1850 is too new to pull anyway. but my mistake on the 99/990. i forgot about the detroit powered models. they have always been allowed and will still be.
sorry for the confusion. we have not changed any rules at all. we are just trying to be more concrete on what the rules say and the intent behind them.

Mike, don't get your pantie$ in a bunch. That's supposed to be the entry level "stock" class, not an enhanced class.

Rules look pretty clean cut to me Eric. I have an A-C buddy getting into the M-M world near Indy. I'm trying to urge him to get an old antique. So far his oldest is a 1960. New generation Deere kinda split tractor history in half. Wish you guys were closer to Michigan! Not pickin on ya, but why no shorter fat 30" tires? Footprint?

Mike is right Eric. The frame on an AC does not need to be modified to fit the 301 or 426. If you"re gonna ban them, the 466 and RD powered IHs along with the 310 and 320 Olivers should have to go also.

Ethan, yes tire footprint is where it all originated from. From what i remember when we started. It was decided to stay at 200in footprint or lower. The 16.9/28 is just a little over that at 209 in, but we have always allowed it. the 16.9/30 is 216,the 16.9/34 is 228in, and the 16.9/38 is 252in. these are not my numbers they are from the firestone chart. if it works i will attach a link.

A lot of people use USAP rules and don't enforce them. People should read the rules before they build there tractor.

Andy, the first five rule reminders apply to the 3mph farmstock class only. in the 4,6,8mph class you can run your 12"wheels, you could run a wheelbarrow wheel for all we care. the superfarmstock class is where we want to keep the tractors closer to origional so that the average guy will not feel that he is pulling against something that he has no chance against.

Again, we have not changed any rules. we are just enforcing the ones we have used for the last ten years.

On the allis issue. i have talked to some allis guru's and i will talk to some more today. Mike, please send me an email, i have some questions.

As for as i am concerned USAP rules are the fairest rules around.If you want to run these combiantions run the 4 6 8 mile per hour clases.A lot of us are done runing 4MP hour classes in farm stock now which i think is wrong.I can pull 4MP without a prolem but i think when you go over 3 you are hurting the poor guys as you put it.

A 310 or 320 will bolt right into a 77 or 88 with no chassis mods so what makes that wrong? I agree a red diamond or 466 in a 460 560 is not a bolt in fit.

Mike I talked to Eric and John last Saturday at the farm, They have decided a newer Diesel is allright in a D17 Diesel. I wanted to bring up the cotton picker D17's that had the 262 Gas motor, but I didn't. Every Allis book mentions them.
