UTS valve adjustment

I'm working on a 49 UTS. engine not running (sat 30 years). I want to adjust valves. I have the manual, the procedure says to adjust with engine warm. intake .008 exhaust .010. Can someone tell what the cold adjustment might be. Thanks

If it sat for 30 years, the first thing you want to do is make sure the valves move up and down full travel. So you don't bend a push rod or worse. Then adjust the valves loose don't worry about being exact untill you get it running. Then you can adjust them HOT. If you are going to work this tractor, then adjust .010 & .020 don't go by the old manuals. If you check the manuals for the later models you will see that MM changed their mind to wider clearences. If it's just for show then it doesn't matter too much. It will be a little quieter with less clearence.

Thanks for the info. I did make sure all were moving first had one valve stuck but got it free. Thanks again
