i have a massey combine with a perkins v8 the combine is bad but the motor runs good i was thing about putting into a 1 1/2 ton truck can it be done

I don't see why it couldn't be done. A friend of mine also has a 540 out of a 760, thats his big plan for it.

When I was young (not that I'm too old now..) There was a man in Ottawa Lake, MI who was known for this, but he was using the 6-354's. I was told he put one in a 3/4 ton mid 70's ford, and he was going to put one into a dodge I believe. I was told he was bolting it up to clark transmissions. I was also told that you could get a "automotive" injector pump for the 354's, would run more rpm's was my understanding.

Also had a neighbor who bought a perkins with transmission.. he also put it into a pickup, but he never got the motor to run, and the whole thing went somewhere.. I'd like to think he didn't scrap it, but shortly before he passed they were after him to clean up his farm.. and after he passed someone did clean it up, so who knows where it ended up.

Basically, if you have the time and patience and ability I say give it a shot.. anything can be done
