VA? Question

Hi guys. I have a 1946 Ford 2N so I can usually be found over on the Ford side. Growing up my Dad had what I believe was a VAC-tricycle front end. This tractor is for sale a few miles from me. The guy is asking $650 and says it runs good. Is this a VA model. Any thoughts on it? I'm looking for something similar in size to my N so I don't have to switch implements all the time. Would this have the Eagle hitch on it?

Sure doesn't look like it has an eagle hitch on it. I can't tell if it has any hydraulics on it. See if there is a serial number tag on the dash and get the serial number.
 
I guess you're right, doesn't look like there is anything back there. I haven't seen it up close yet, I drove by it on my home from work and then found the ad on Craigslist. I'll stop and take a look tomorrow.
 
Looks like a VAI to me.It has the headlights on the grill,heavy front hubs.
With the heavy front hubs and arched axle it should be new enough to put an eagle hitch on.If you look on the rear axle housing behind the seat bracket there should be 4 holes to bolt the rockshaft on.It would be cheaper to buy a parts VAC with a complete eagle hitch/hydraulic system than to buy the parts seperately.
For 650 it needs to run/drive very well. Nick
 
Stopped and checked it out today. Apparantley it is a VAI made in 1952 according to the serial #. (VAI is stamped right on it). It has a PTO but no hydraulics. I wouldn't mind getting it to haul my wagon but I really can't justify it as that's all I would be able to use it for.
 
it woulndt be all that hard to bolt a rockshaft on and you would have an eagle hitch/ 3pt and the hydraulics woulndt take much either u should be able to pop the plug out and put the pump in and plumb it up it may take some time and a little money but if you can find one in a scrap yard you could probbaly get all the parts fairly cheaper
