i came across a complete 51 or 52 vac with 3pt,good rubber,34'' tires, tri frontend, and desent sheatmetal.
the bad, does not run, block has been busted and repaired, but leaks, and the guy wants $600

what would be a good price for a complete parts tractor, 600 sounds a litte high to me.

I would love to find a late model for $600!!!! I've been looking everywhere for one that's not $1500+ for crap.

Good to know. Three years ago I paid $900 for my, ""field
ready" '54 VAC-14. It needs a little work but is sound.

I paid $600 for my 51 VAC about 8 years ago. Cranked right up and drove it on the trailer. It gets used almost every week. It is hooked to the log splitter right now. Pulls a 6 foot tandem disk in garden season.
Best $600 I ever spent. It was a trade in at the local CNH dealer.

Up here you'd get scrap price for the metal and whatever the tires are worth. The tires, if in good shape, are worth a lot more than the tractor. If they're junk, it's worth what a scraper would pay. Anything more is in the eye of the beholder. Pay what YOU think it's worth.

I live in nw minn And you cant touch a vac with eagle hitch with nice sheet metal stuck or not for under 1,000 to many have gone to the scrap yard when times got tough PLEASE SEND SOME VACS' TO MY PLACE I would be more than willing to take them off your hands

I've got some but you'll have to come get them - tractors are available singly as well - make me an offer 8) http://imageevent.com/skipjack/classifiedsforsale

(quoted from post at 11:28:57 11/27/13) It sounds a little high to me as well, but if the rear tires are really good, $600 might be an OK price.

That's what I thought but after considering how everything else has gone up lately $600 for a decent runner seems like a bargain but then that's just me - buy high & sell low has become my motto as of late :?
