Valve Cover Gasket

I took a look at this and it looks like i could replace the valve cover gasket without removing the manifold.But I have been surprised a few times and thought I would ask the guys who know.It's not leaking bad but getting ready to paint and want to get it done now.I appreciate all the help I get from this forum and don't mean to ask dumb questions ,just trying to save a little work. Thanks
 
I use a little non hardening Permatex gasket cement on the cover side to adhere the gasket to the cover until you can slip it up in place and fasten the cover. Don't put the sealant on the block side.

I agree, I use ultra blue RTV on the cover side of the gasket, nothing on the block side.
