Usually it's gone well before now but there was a deer apiece this year so it lasted.
Did potatoes and green peppers and onion in tin foil on the bbq and then quick grilled some little deer steaks. Um umm
Reminds you all winter - this year into May - why you like to hunt.

my venison is gone!! But like my grandpa used to tell me, deer season starts the 4'th of july!! Nobody knows the difference between fireworks and a gun shot!! haha

I usually eat three a year by myself and I know I'm pretty far well into the second one already. I'll be surprised if it lasts till September. I might have to start killing four.

Usually put three in freezer to last the year. The last week of season I gave one away sure that my son or I would get one more but didn't. So I am have to use it slowly. Only three months till it opens again.

Still have plenty of deer summer sausage left, but then we make plenty. Have 1 loin left that I plan on Bar B Qing on Menorial day

Yes, and for about 8 hours work, 4 deer were cut up, about 54 lbs went to for hot dogs, pepperoni, and Italian sausage, split that custom order with a friend was bout $300 total, still have most of my half of that, + all the tenderloins, back straps and some other cuts I saved, all cut up fresh and froze right after.

I do the same thing red peppers onions in foil, as well as potatoes onions, peppers, carrots, marinate the venison, get that grill nice and hot, after using some shortening on the grill, it is by far an enjoyable meal, which is also accompanied by a quality beer or sometimes a red wine, usually when its colder outside.

These deer were all grass fed, oat grass from after the harvest and new oat grass that I planted, stomach contents confirmed it, seems like they really like oat grass, meat is mostly tender no wild or game taste, its definitely a reminder of why I hunt, don't raise anything here, but look at the deer herd as if I did, providing what I can and harvesting selectively, depending on permits etc.
