VERMEER 605J

Not sure on the 605J but on the two belt balers I had the only way was to shorten the belts and resplice them.

Someone will correct me if I"m wrong but the J has air bags that initialy tighten the belts. The air bags determines the core preasure, usually the first 3 feet dia.,and the hydraulic tension the rest of bale. If you don"t have a manual you can get one from Vermeer. There will come a time you can"t run without it.

Vermeer will send you free manuals. Call them. I just got mine in for a used 604J. Mine has an air guage on the left hand side of the baler.

What IA Gary said below about triming belts. The belts need to be a certain length and stretch over time. On some Vermeers the end belts have different length. Need manual

Yes, you can add air to the air cylinders. There is a proper pressure for them. Air has to be let out of cylinders reduce pressure for repairing belts, I believe.
