Viagra for a bull

Is there such a thing?Got a young bull runnin with my hfrs.Workrd great early summer through fall, then about Nov. it was hit and miss.Never see him breed, seems to do his business at night.Any suggestions?

Not much help to you, but it does remind me of the story of the two farmers--one was having similar problems and the other told him the vet had some medicine he gave his bull when his bull had the same problem and within an hour he'd served every cow on the farm, whether or not they were in heat. First farmer says "wow--that's some good stuff--any idea what it was"? Second farmer says "no idea, but it tasted like peppermint"......

Don't know what your specific problem is, but saw an ad on CL last year for a herd of cows and one gay bull---

Though you may occasionally see them "in the act", according to research done by LSU, most cattle breeding is done at night. No pun intended.

Not much help either, but made me think of another....

The one about the "Randy Rooster"....

Farmer had an overly active rooster and a bunch of hens...so active that in fact the farmer was concerned the rooster would be found dead after his over exertions....

Next morning there the rooster lay in the barnyard with a few vultures circling overhead.

The farmer said to the hired hand, "just like I thought....that rooster went and killed himself."

Just then the rooster opened an eye and said...QUIET....they are almost ready to land!!

Don't do what I done had a black limosin that every time i seen him he was laying under the trees rest of the bulls were out so i hauled him to the auction barn next spring i had about 80% black calves.

There is such a thing as a low labido. Don't know that there's a cure. I don't know that I'd be concerned about him slowing down if he's been doing the job. Maybe he's just done.
I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen these two bulls I have now "doing the job",but the cows aren't riding each other either,so they must have worked.
The guy I sold my dairy cattle to said he had a bull one time the he never once saw breeding a cow,but he had 100% conception with him.

What? you never heard of "Spanish Fly"??? sheesh, was you born yesterday???

Spanish Fly is a very small hard-shelled beetle fed to bulls. They irritate the wee-wee hole of the bulls peeeepeeee, so he "itches" his shlong by servicing the cows. And vola' pregnant cows and calfs 9-mo later. You do know the bull peeeepeeee is already HARD and is extended by muscles attached to the back legs and standing? ........the amazed Dell

I've heard claims that watermellon rind does the same thing for men that Viagra does. No personal experience. Maybe feeding them to a bull would do the same thing?

Maybe he's funny and is coming out of the closet, er stall. Do the other bulls refuse to go into the barn alone with him?

Till I got my current Brangus, in 35 years I only saw one breed once. This little sucker is just now going through 2 years and you can see the heifers sides move when the calves get restless inside, but he still does the bull thing. Expect delivery within the month.

Initially, we thought he was missing too, but with the anticipated delivery date, he got down to business the first cycle....just likes girls I guess.

Maybe he got them all bred already? If he's been with the same group I'd be alot more worried if he was still work'n.

All joking outside, any bull that I'm betting my calf crop on gets a BSE, breeding soundness exam. Call your vet or talk to your local extension agent. Lots more to it than just having a big nut sack, but even then he should have at least a 35 centimeter scrotal circumference. Google it.

It would be a good question if your eyes never left him. Just wait for the next cycle. He may have already performed his duties.Behind your back obviously.
Vet checks don't come cheap.
