Vista question

I could not help but notice a 1000 Vista going on auction at Aumanns in In next week, now I know Vista FWA are not all that common and plentiful, is there any chance that is the Schrock tractor that brought almost 50,000 before it was now restored, OMG what will it sell for now ? I thought they should have kept it original myself but then what do I know , could not afford it then so I know I am out now !I hope nothing FISHY here

They are not common but there have been 4 of them brought into the state of Indiana by one collector and resold one of them was Shrockeys tractor it came from Wisc. One of them went to north west IN I believe around Michigan city. One was bought by Wayn Graber down in Southern IN then was resold to a collector in Pennsylvania. The last one went to North West Ohio by private sale. So there are a few around and of course you have the guys in the north who just make them up out of spare Parts.

So are you saying this one is probably just one that was made up ? I would like to do that I guess, then where do you get parts ? I thought there must be some kind of a registry to show they were real. I guess there are just too many tricks out there , WOW who do you trust these days ?

Yes, this is the Vista from last summer's auction as far as I have been told, and yes, there are serial numbers to prove which ones are factory. I keep track of all of the Vista MFWDs known to exist, and I don't really know of any that were put together "up north". There is a lot more involved in putting one of these together than you might realize. The tractor that will be auctioned off if a factory Vista MFWD.

Probably a put together (I would know the difference) and done so when it did sell he could get alot more than what any smart person would pay. watch the price go to the moon.

Well, I checked with the Charles City records, and serial number 34601419, the tractor from the Schrock auction and the tractor on the upcoming Aumann auction is a FACTORY MFWD Vista. If you don't believe me just call Charles City yourself and ask for a build sheet on this tractor. Those records are great and can easily tell us which tractors are factory and what ones are put together. I looked the tractor over very well at the IN auction and nothing looked made up to me. It is genuine.

Hey, MnM44. Would you like to put some names with the "up north" people who put stuff together with spare parts, cause I would love to have them put one together for me. Also, what have they put together? I would love to see some of their work to see how it looks. Thanks in advance.

I am glad someone checked and I am sure that no body would ever start such rumors just to keep me away ? I had called shrockys office a few wks ago to find out and never got an answer as I found out Dave was in the hospital not doing very well at all, has anyone heard from him lately ? So sad that a 50 yr old guy has such a bad heart deal, we need to keep him in our thoughts.

It is factory and it is in Logansport In Aug 23 aumannauctions.com and it looks to me like last summer somebody had bigger EYES than stomach if you follow me

Well when you see guys making serial # tags (poorly made) and lp Vista fwds then you can pretty much draw your own conclusions. Harrold Jennings made a Vista FWD on propane when it was new with the HD 800 small bell engine. The G900 FWD out in UMA had been restamped so many times you couldnt tell what it was. Maybe we need a few more U304s to crop up so they can sell for 50,000 dollars. All I know to do is get the info from the Museam as you suggest to prove how they were built.

There were 3 factory Vista FWA LP"s made. And as for the U304, I own that tractor. I will admit that it is NOT factory, and I have never said it was. It WAS however put together at the dealership when it was brand new. I know this cause I talked to the dealer who did it and he said he had to get the kit from Elwood and install it before the owner would take it. Stamped on the transfer case, it says U302 right on it. If you want to own it for $50,000, or even a little less, email me. I also know of 2 more of these tractors. My email is [email protected]. I also have a Vista lp FWA that was a factory FWA, but it was diesel, but it got converted to lp later in life. That could be bought also if you want it. Email me if you have more questions, and so I know who I am talking to.

Oh, I guess why I said put together is that very common for a auction co. to do find some thing to add on and get more money but if the sn says MFWD then its MFWD. Thing is the price is still going to the moon, defitly more then I'd go,which is a shame cause FWD down here is almost required and it looks like a good tractor,I'd just have to redo the hydraulics to take a batwing shredder and 26'disk but like I said, I just don't have the money to event think bout bidding for what it would go for.

I sincerely doubt that the Yuma G900 had been restamped in later years since the seriel numbers weren't even available until recently, and the guy that owned it had several hundred tractors to worry about. I don't think he put it together and stamped a tag to go with it. I understand that the numbers on the tag were a little crooked when stamped, but that too probably took place at the factory, keep in mind that was the first serial number for the G900 MFWD. MnM44, it seems that you are often very cynical of the G1000-G900 MFWD's. There are several people that study these particular tractors. If you have any questions or information on these tractors, why don't you talk to some of these people. That might help us to understand your point of view. E-mail is open. Thank You

you know it is exactly stories like this that make me turn my computer off...why can we not just help each other, I doubt that there are too many people out  there retagging or remaking too many MM tractors they are far too low numbered unlike some of our green friends and generally when you find a cloned or changed MM there is an interesting history behind it....so then it becomes valuable for that reason...I just bought an A4T out of Ohio just for that reason...quite interesting how the tractor became to be what it is today....will share at another time

Thanks jd just noticed your post after I spoke my piece below ! I am home and recovery is a slow process call me if you like, I will be bed fast for maybe a few more weeks...and yes it is dads old Vista, I too wonder what she'll bring this time around. I about died last yr when it brought that much. Dad had pd only about 10% of what it brought, our commission to Kurt was probably as much as dad pd. sorry Kurt guess I picked the wrong job !
