I bought a W9 about a year ago and would like to to take it to the the local pull in my area. The tractor is all original condition. The guys there stated I don't have stock tires size. The size is 18.4/34. Can anyone give me some advice to get right size or direct me to some information on the web that can provide me with the correct information. I would really like to play this year Thanks

Tractor Data is WRONG on the rear tire size. They are 34 inch originals. Don't believe everything you see or hear on the various internet sites. Lots of misinformation out there.

Think 15X34 new size is 18.4, 14X34 = 16.9.
Not common but 26 and 32 inch rim sizes was on some. Different wheel with 26. 15 X 34 was one original tire size for a W9.

The in 1951 standard rear tires were 14(16.9)x 34. Optional rear sizes were 18(23.1) x 26 and 15(18.4) x 34. 7:50 x 18 was only front size listed. These were 1951 specifications. In 1943 steel was standard. Optional rubber sizes were 12.75(14)(16.9) x 32 and 13.50(15)(18.4) x 32 rear sizes. Depending on the year model you may be legal with any of these 32", 34", or 26" tire sizes.

I have a set of 32 inch tires that were on a I9 that are for sale not the one pictured and I believe that this tractor had 32 inch duals as standard equipment

Standard tires on I-9 in 1943 specs were 13(14.9) x 32, optional were 14(16.9) x 32. Standard tires in 1951 specs were 13(14.9) x 32 and it mentions "other sizes and duals available" but does not list the optional sizes. The duals may have come on the pictured tractor from the factory but they were an option.

Interesting observation on tire sizes. In the 1943 specifications, tire sizes for the agricultural W tractor tires were still listed in the old old size designation ie; 12.75(13)(14.9) and 13.50(14)(16.9), whereas the industrial I tractors were listed in the then new size designations 13(14.9) and 14(16.9).

This is a long shot being how old the conversation is but I am in need of two 32 inch rims for my W9 if anyone has a set. They are split rims. Thanks

Get an owner's manual. Many places sell reprints and there are several original manuals on ebay right now. It will be no more than $40 well spent. The stock tire sizes will be listed in there.

You will have to translate from old size to modern size; there are references online that you can use to prove your case.
