Well, I'm back on Yesterday's Tractor after a few years hiatus. My '47 9n has been sitting in my shop in pieces for about 5 years, and I am finally ready to do the long past due rebuild. My place has gone to hell in a handbasket since it's been out of service, so it is time.
That being said, I need some advice from other Puget Sound area Ford tractor guys.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good machine shop in the Everett/Snohomish area to do my hot tanking, head checking, crank checking and possible milling? Seems like I need to get this done before I order the rebuild kit, as I won't know bearing sizes until I get that pre work done. So, any good shops in the area you guys know of who are well versed in Ford N's, and reasonable and reliable? Thanks a million in advance guys.
The journey begins.......

Rick........down here by Ft Lewis, I'd use the Cope Bros for my machine shop work. Well respected in NASCAR circle track racing.

There is an EXCELLENT Ford FLATHEAD-V8 shop in Mt Vernon........Dell, foot of 14k Mt Rainier now with only 5-acres of starvation grass for my sheepies

Hey Dell, Only 5 acres!! Did ya sell some to the Yuppies? Or just scaling back? Need the extra money to pay for the diesel? (%^)
DON TX

Don........naw, the ex-wife of 32-years got the 10-acres next door in divorce (her choice) and sold it 1-yr later after throwing out the dead-beat renter that my Boeing lay-off money was supporting. She got all but $3600 of $52,000 Boeing layoff money spent before she divorced me plus all my fathers $25,000 estate. He TRASHED the kitchen and bathroom, dug out a $1000 pinetree. So she had an unscheduled remodeling job. (which kind me helped and expensed on IOU's never repaid, while I was going back to college working on my 4th degree paid by Boeing re-training)

She got married last Christmas time after she retired teaching Dental Hygiene for 35yrs and moved to TEXAS (she's from Calif) where she is now driving an 18-wheeler with her new husband. Who knew?.........Dell, the ol'sheepdog trainer

Man !

Sounds like Your wife and Boeing couldn't stand ya, and Boeing was willing to pay $52,000.00 to get ride of you !
You must be a fun guy to be around?
LOL
