have a d17 bored to 4 9/16 kept getting water in oil figured was head gasket but was not its leaking around bottom of sleeves it has been hard blocked to bottom of water pump any ideas on how to fix with out tearing motor down.

Tap the water steam holes in the head to 1/2 pipe put some allen head 1/2 pipe plugs in the holes . remove the casting plug from the front center and rear of head run water into the rear center plug once its been tapped to 1/2 inch and out the front . It willl be fine with no water in the block and just cooling the head. Plus you want have any crank windage issues from a constant filling oil pan.

wont it get to hot with just water running in the head ,would i have to run an electric water pump if so what kind do you think i should get thanks for info.

ran the 12 volt 50 dollar sure flo from camping world on mine. Chances are the sleeves when interfernced fit cracked the block. The only fix is to run a dry block with big sleeves in my opinion.
