On the recommendations of several here, I got one from Northern Tool delivered today.
Had to modify the wand on my machine, as it didn't have a snap coupler to change nozzles. The fitting on the blaster would not come off, otherwise, a pipe nipple would have made the job far easier. Anyway, tried blaster on a couple rusty wagon wheels. Did pretty good job. Will have to work on feeding sand, however, as it fed in bursts. If I could keep sand flowing uniformly, it would do one heckova job!

You probably need more volume of water if it spurts sand. I run 7 gallons a minute at 2000psi and it works great. I tried it with a 2000psi and 3 gallons a minute and it didn't work right

How does Northern tool list it? Looked on their web site but didn't find anything listed as a water/sandblaster

Go to their website put "2260" into their search box. No, they don't show it on their site, but will come up on a search. One of the guys gave me that number on the previous post. Is in the catolog that they sent with order. NOT CHEAP!

Think it is a feed problem. Vacuum is enough to partially collapse feed hose. Thinking of cutting a hole in the bottom side of the sand bucket so wand goes in the side, instead of the top. Also, different sand might flow better. Used an old bucket of dry sand that was sitting around the barn from another project. Thinking it might even ahve been recycled. Need to get back to sand pit and get a new supply. As much sand as I've got, I'll never put a dent in it!

Ray, your blaster will work much better if you use dry sand in it. I've also found that mine works better if you don't push the probe in too far into the sand. I use mine pretty often. Mike

So how fast did the rust reappear ?

Black Beauty sand made from slag flows better. If you're ok with the feed issues with regular sand because of it's availability stick with it but BB will perform better.

Slight dusting of rust in a few places, within a few hours. Probably will wash off, when I power wash it with water to get sand off. Am doing a bunch of wheels for outside stored impliments. Once I get going, I have three gravity box wagons with various stages of rust and bad paint. RustOleum for sure!

Sand has ben in barn couple years - dry as a bone. Keep several buckets around so I always have a supply of dry sand.
