Ok first I am aware of the serial #s on YT and have used them often. my question is who's serial #s are more accurate; YTs or external_links. According to YT my WC is a '35 but by external_link it is a mid '36. i really would like a surefire answer.
thx guys Les

Many people make mistakes on serial numbers.
Tractor Data is always happy to hear from people if they think there is a mistake in their info.
What is your number ?

The date of the casting is on the right axle, almost completely hidden where the frame rail bolts to the rear end. Of course that doesn't mean the tractor was made then.

There is a difference between YT numbers and some books, but tractordata is the most unreliable, from what I"ve seen over the years.

Instead of complaining about Tractor Data why don't you send Peter an email with corrections and he will fix any errors on his site.

TractorData's numbers for the WC are the same as those in Swinford's "Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment", Dean's "Allis-Chalmers Data Book", Fay & Kraushaar's "Original Allis-Chalmers", and the NAEDA guide.

The YT Mag numbers match those published the Price Digest Blue Book.

thanks guys. what all the answers i got back and the further research i have done tells me is that no one is sure what serial numbers go with what year. but i'll use the 2 out of 3 rule and claim it as a 1936.
again thanks to all participants, Les
