wc engine build

what would you guys recomend for building a 37 allis wc for pulling? i plan to use the wc block and manifold so it extis at the 45 degree angle. i would like the engine to apper stock. wd45 crank, cam? let me know!

take your wd45 crank and offset grind it from 2 3/8 journal size to 2 inches of a buda diesel rod and used those rods and wc 4 1/8 pistons and get your cam reground and it will be 260 cubes. it will still look stock and be 4 7/8 stroke and 4 1/8 bore.

(quoted from post at 17:07:28 01/01/11) what would the rods be from?
I am sure plowboys engine man LW will agree . Most of the two inch rod journal offset grinds use the allis 262 rod. You will not pick up the entire 3/8 stroke unless you go to undersized bearings . You usually only pick up 90 percent of the stroke when reducing to a standard bearing size.

You know I like Tommy and Buddy but you simply cannot take the whole 3/8 of a inch from the bottom of the journal to move the centerline and have a round journal . You have to take some off the top to make it a round journal and thats were you loose the 10 percent.Leaving you 90 percent of 3/8 in gained stroke.

i agree Vic manifold is to small drill hole in hood and get wd45 -d17 stough , also get rc. gears and a gleaner engine that is a good combination i got a unstyled allis also with 14.9x38 tires holds its own on the cheap side

Mike you should have came to Tunica for the Southern Nationals. The competion was the same as at home. Only more of it. Your tractors would have did well.
