What D-17 engine parts will fit in a WC block or what modifications need be done to allow them to fit?

just put the d-17 motor in your wc and be done with it. If you don't want to do that i know a guy in ky that will be abel to help you out.

Won't the D-17 engine be very noticeable as different than a WC engine both looks and part numbers? I thought that I would not be stock with the D-17 engine in place and be disqualified.

Rods[but WC,WD,WD45 are the same, camshaft[same profile as earlier W models], pistons[lower compression than stock if you don't use a WD45 crankshaft], note...a 45 crank & D17 crank are the same except the D17 has larger main journals,so wont fit a WC block, but 45 crank will drop right in. You can use the manifold, carburator, distributor, & governor assembly off the 17 to your advantage. Kip

Check you local rules. Some clubs look at the D-17 block as "manufactures recommended replacement", while others will put you in Div. 3. It is easy to tell the two blocks apart, but the d-17/E3 block will bolt right in.

Most clubs allow the d17 block swap for wc or wds. if youre dead set on the 201 block youll have to use a wd 45 crank instead of the d17.
