WC Rocker Arm

Removed valve cover from son's 1938 WC to check for sticking valve. Rockerarm appears different on tappet end. Is this stock original? Not like my 1937 WC, I am including pictures.

Looks like a set of roller rockers to me. I've herad of a couple other engines having them, but no one seems to know where they might have come from.

I was told some of the older wc had rockers like that but those are the first i have ever seen. That some find for us puller type guys.

Roller rockers can be found on some high performance race engines, never knew they were used that long ago on tractor engines. I think the theory was less friction, less wear, thus higher RPM possible, when the valve train was the limiting factor.
