IS THERE A WAY TO TIGHTEN UP STEERING ON A WC NARROW FRT END? JUST SWITCHED FROM A WIDE FRT AND IT HAS SOME FRT END WOBBLE FREE PLAY IN IT.THANKS DWC

I fixed mine by replacing the U-joint in the steering shaft. I didn't think there was that much play in it but it made all the difference in the world.

Is the wobble worse on blacktop than in the field? There is a bearing at the bottom of the steering pedestal which has been getting hammered for decades....doesn"t turn much but gets all the impact of every bump. Race looks "scalloped" when you take it out. U-joint is most obvious and easy to repair, but if that"s tight, look to the bearing. There are also some shims where the steering shaft enters the front casting.

There is also a setscrew on the spindle assembly that can be tightened. The keyway is probably hammered out from years of abuse to go along with previous advice.
