Wc/Wd Ring Pinion

I have a 1936 A/C WC,first gear is a little to tall for the class I pull. anyone swap a ring gear from a WD into a Wc.I look for a drop box but they are hard to find.I know a RC gear will fit with some work, but there hard to find too.

The WD and WC are, as far as I know, not interchangeable.
How about a WC hi-crop; I think it is possible they had a slower ratio, because they used 38" tires.
Of course, they are probably almost as precious as an RC....

they say the road grader has the lower ring gear and pinion also . the wd rear end is the same ratio as a wc but they do not interchange .

You might try higher compression pistons, A 45 crank and postons, a cam from a 17 or 170 may fit, maybe someone here knows about that.

The has a D-17 engine, its about 53 hp now.I'am pulling Dead Weight with 14.9-28 or 13.9-36 tires. In 3500lbs class it pulls very good but 4500 lbs class first gear is a little fast with 36 in rubber.I will be looking for a RC ring& pinion gear to swap out this winter,if any one has one for sale let me know and thanks for all the info. David

wc and wd rear ends dont interchange. Cases are even different. Wc has more of an automotive type rear end and wd doesnt. The rear end from a speed patrol would probably be a lower ratio not positive but just an educated guess.

(quoted from post at 15:29:42 09/13/09) i believe the only cam that will help him would be a 175 cam. the others areall the same.
interesting . my dial indicator must be in need of a new one . the 175 cam is the highest lift . but there can be cams reground that outperform the 175 cam .
