WD main seals

I am ordering a complete gasket kit for my WD. What is needed to do the crank seals front and back? Does the engine need to be pulled? Thanks for any input.

Also I need a water pump and on this site is says it does not come with pulley. Can I take the old pulley and fan off of my old water pump?

You can take the old pulley and fan off. The engine really needs to come out to do the mains. The top of the rear main is behind the flywheel and can't be gotten to without removing the flywheel. The front could be done with the engine in frame, but not the rear.

be aware i just used the yt mag gasket kit on my wd and althou its nobodys fault i have trouble getn my wd in gear now some friends looked at it and all said the rear main when replaced drags the flywheel so when you push the clutch the gears dont stop and it grinds lil by lil its getn better it's an easy fix but dred pulling the motor back out

That makes no sense at all. The flywheel is always turning and the rear main sits in a groove in the rear main cap (bottom) and the aluminum casting (top). Sounds more like you need to adjust the forks on your clutch or you didn't get it put back together right when you took it off.

Thats impossible, flywheel turns with craqnkshaft, clutch adjustment or something wrong with pilot bearing, in other word, something is dragging between flywheel and trans input shaft. just my 2 cents.

I agree it makes no sense Im just getn settled in from moving so i'll be able to get into it more, what confuses me is it doesnt do it all the time could it be surface rust on the bearing from sittn and the humidity that just needs some grease and use. im just tryn to take in some options but i'll know more when i get under it
