Hello,I have a 49`wd that I bought spring of 08. I pull in the super stock class at our club pulls(6mph 20"hitch height 2064rpms).can anyone give me any help or Ideas to make this tractor preform better?

I have a wd block with wd-45 crank,ap-46 pistons 1/8" over bore,(milled for clearance) custom ground cam(170 specs??) big carb. Sorry I should have told specs in above post. Not sure what has been done to head. I would like to make it run a little better without spending a ton of money.(Wife is not a big fan of this trator pulling ,The 3 kids seem to like it ).Thank you

See if the head has been opened up and if it has bigger valves. Have it surfaced to bring up your compression. If I remember right it has alot of room to work with.Look at your carb and air intake. Can grind the crank and gain about 1/2" stroke. Hope this gives you a few ideas.

.... LOL if you are running a wd-45 crank and 4.125 pistons you allready have a wd-45 engine and your camshaft has allready been ground sounds like you are doing good. Check your camshaft centerline while you have the head off with the numbers on the card that your grinder sent with it.Surfacing the head will do you absolutley no good all the allis w series engines heads are flat even the d-17 they have no compression chamber. Bigger valves can help most of the time, check the head and see if it has been ported and E-mail me.

could assemble it . i have priced the parts if those guys dont come and get it sometime next month . im thinking seriously about selling complete engine.

Give more information for good help, some pictures of your tractor would be nice. 1. Are you running out of power or traction? 2. What is your pulling weight? 3. What do you use for fuel? 4. What type of ignition are you using? 5. What are you competing against. 6. What is your average placing at the pull? 7. Have you removed the PTO shaft and belt pullies? 8. Have you done any work to your governer? 9. Your hitch is 20" high, how far from the center of the axle to where the hook sets, what do your rules say is the closest? 10. What do you use for spark plugs, how do you gap them, how often do you clean them? I am sure I can get you better for little money if you give me enough information.
