WD water pump

Ok guys, I am working on my rescue WD. My problem is I have very little water flow. With return line off at a idle nothing, at full engine speed little movment. (no thermastat) As the tractor sat with the return line off and mice made a nest in radiator. I pulled the back plate on water pump and with radiator full I get water flow but only a 1/4 of the way up water pump around outside edge. Shouldnt water come flying out all the way around the outside edge???? also I assume that the water comes in around edge and is pumped into the 2 holes in center???? I think pump fins are full of mice aftermath as I still am pulling grass like and hair lookin stuff. What do you think?

Can some explain how it works and how to tear apart.

If anyone has a diagram of pump they could scan would sure help.
Thanks for looking

About all I can offer is the notion that the pump draws coolant from the lower radiator hose and pushes it INTO the engine block..
I am not clear on what you are describing about your water pump and the flow you see...

Well if a hose was off in such a way as to let mice get into the water pump it could be full of mouse nest stuff and or even have the fins rusted away and no fins little to no movement or clogged up with mouse nest also not movement to speak of

Huh no problem guys.....Im a go out and pull it off. You cant be scared all your life!!!
Ill let yas know what happens

Ok got it pumping water...Problem was in the bottom of radiator got almost another hand full of mice aftermath. Just hoping that i got enough out to not have it plug up agian. Took it for a ride and when i got back pulled the cap and was able to hold my finger in the water.
Thanks guys

Yep mice can cuase some funny odd problems that can be hard to figure out. I have a D-17 that seemed like it had some mouse nests in a couple cylinders. How they ever got in I do not know but it took me a good number of hours to clear the junk out of those cylinder and that had to be done before those cylinders would fire

Roi, is that all that the plug is used for? I have fought with it and cannot remove it. The hex head is getting pretty round now....
