WD45 Air Cleaner

I have a WD45 that sometimes blows the oil out of the oil bath air cleaner? it only does it once in a while?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know
Thanks

Are you still running the 6V system, or changed to 12V..?
When you turn the ignition off with the 12V system, you need to have it idled-down or it may fire backwards and blow oil up the air inlet..
Never seemed to have that happen with the original 6 V...
Could be the Alternator is feeding back thru the ignition.?
Ron..

I have the 12V, it is blowing out the oil when I'm running the tractor, I have the hood off when I was test driving it and then all of the sudden it blow out oil on the exhaust manifold and smoke went all over, I thought something was on fire but luckily not.
I just timed the tractor so is there anyway I could of got the timing off a little and it is blowing out the air intake? thanks for the advice.

Would need to be off more than it probably is..!
Always set the timing right "on" the mark and at full rated RPM..
If it is blowing oil out of the air cleaner while it is running, it must be Back-Firing and that is usually a sign of running too lean, crossed plug wires or bad valves..
Take the rubber tube off between the carb and the air-cleaner and see what is going on while it is running..
There should be NO back-firing and nothing coming from the carb, toward the air-cleaner..!!

Ron.

could be a valve stuck (or sticking) open. That would cause it but if you timed it with the piston in the wrong stroke it would do that too. I would pull the valve cover off and remike the valves. I think the setting is .012 spacing when the rocker arm is all the way up. I did one and then turned the engine over a little. ect.. you can email me if you hav eany questions
