WD45 Hydraulic's

I have WD 45 center section which my father gave me - said it contained the hydraulics system,Low volume/High pressure. It's mounted on small 6" dia rubber tires and a frame built over top the unit to install an electric motor. I want to set this up to run my homemade press and home made tubing bender but know little about how this system works. I can modify the frame of the bender to accomodate the Allis lift cylinder but have no spec in regards to length of stroke , dia of cylinder or what type of mounts are used to mount to the tractor. Also who has the best service type manual out there which explains the hydraulic system set-up on a WD 45, hopefully I can figure out how this transmission/hydraulic system works. Need to know where the high pressure output and return ftting are located, what rpm to run the system at etc, etc.

Above the pump is a tapered structure with three pipe plugs in it- that's where you would tap into for hydraulic pressure. If you hook up a two-way valve and need a return line, you could plumb it back in through the filler neck, or underneath in the drain plug port. On the right side of the assembly is where the lift lever of the tractor would connect- that operates the valve. Simple solution is to find a tractor or pix of one in the op manual to find that part. Pump puts out about 3200psi- can your cylinders handle that? RPM of the pump would correspond to engine speed (1600rpm) since it's driven directly off the clutch shaft. I think it would be simpler to come up with an off-the-shelf hydraulic system than to modify this one.

Thanks for the great reply JMS/MN. Can work the details beyond what you have provided once I locate an operators manual. Already has a simple frame built overhead to mount an electric motor also currently has a pulley mounted on the input shaft of the unit. The RPM and pressure outlet side of the pump is what I was after. Looking to use a WD45 lift cylinder as a ram on the tubing bender which is rated for the pressure.

Mike, I bought a cylinder from this guy off e-bay. Turned out to be the wrong size for my 45 about 2x the dia. But to use as a bender it should fit the bill. Are you interested?
