Still can not start my WD9 on gas have checked butter fly they close all the way. Checked carb. works fine new spark plugs ran fine last summer then quit checked timing set right.

If it cranks nicely (not under radical compression) it should be able to start with a whiff of starting fluid in the intake. If it does not, check the spark at every spark plug. 1/4 inch gap. Make sure the wires are in the correct order from front to back 1342. Jim

You say you checked the timing so I assume you checked for spark. Timing was checked by confirming the number one piston was on the compression stroke? Does it have a magneto or battery and distributor. What have you had apart since it run last? I believe the mag or distributor turn counter clockwise on those viewed from the back. Do you have the plug wire firing order matching that. This is opposite of a gas engine. If I am wrong on that I hope someone will correct me.

Have you checked to make sure the starting valves are adjusted so they open? Do you have good spark, Also the distributor cap could have a crack possibly. Just guessing trying to help.

I hate to ask but the obvious is does it have gas in the little starting tank. They don't hardly hold enough for one start let alone 2. As for cranking it over.I could never get our MD to crank by hand ever even on gas setting. Would not turn over a complete revolution by hand. Would start fine with the starter.

Went to start mine a few months ago. Ran good on both gas and diesel. Ran it out of fuel and then couldn't get it to start on gas. Tried about everything.
Remembered when I got it, wouldn't start on gas. Finally pulled it till it started on diesel. Drove it around and when I shut it off I switched to gas and it ran.
Did the same thing this last time and it ran on gas when I shut if off, even started on gas again.
