I JUST GOT A SIMPLICITY MODEL V WALK BEHIND 5 H.P. BRIGGS THAT HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO ELECTRONIC IGNITION BUT IT HAS A WEAK SPARK, I DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE ELECTRONIC UNITS. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I NEED TO DO OR CHECK?,

Is this an aftermarket conversion or the B&S electronic system? If its the aftermarket system then the coil maybe bad or the coil air gap could need adjusting.

If your conversion uses all Briggs parts, and I assume it is a later 5 hp with the magneto outside the flywheel, check the connections of the magnetron module. I put one on once and had some problems with either the ground wire or where it connected to the new module lead.

If this is the kind you have, and still no spark the later coils have the trigger built right into the coil. I think $45-$55.

The most probable cause of problem is the flywheel,if you just did conversion or same was done before you bought, confirm that flywheel/coil air gap is correct,if correct, remove ign module & take to local mower shop and have them check in a coil tester, also check with them on correct air gap setting.
IF ign module good, air gap correct & spark still weak then it's probably a polarity problem in flywheel magnets.Scroll down postings to MTD 990 posting, read reply by 6jack,conversions on old briggs number series eng don't work/don't work well due to magnet polarity on flywheel or if points/condenser still present on eng, consider picking up a new/used coil on ebay or online dealer & convert system back to orig point/mag system.

I CLEANED THE GROUND AND THE CONNECTING WIRE, PUT IN FRESH GAS, PULLED THE ROPE 3 TIMES, IT BACKFIRED, PULLED IT AGAIN, IT STARTED RUNNING LIKE A CHAMP. STILL HAVE TO FLUSH THE FUEL TANK.
