I'm build an A John Deere.I have a power block with new sleeves and a 9" crank, with the crank pin to fit 329 rods [2.75] journals.Who can make me a set of rods and what can I expect to pay for them? Thanks

Contact Greg Potter in Mo, its best to get him in the evenings at 816-390-1893 . The last set I had done was $350 and you had to supply the upper rod and the lower 329 rod was supplyed by Potter, but that was three years ago. There is also Alan Schooler but he is real slow at 816-628-0057. If you want to run a 3" rod journal which makes the crank stronger and a 4340 billet rod theres Murphys Motor Service at http://www.murphysmotorservice.com/index.html
but that costs more but Jeff's parts are nice stuff.

Bore is 6.125 and I don't have the pistons back from having them machined to go up in the power block to know the length yet. Thanks for your reply.

Mark thanks for the reply I already have the crank that is 2.75.I built two tractors this summer and used Murphy's blocks ,heads and the billet rods that worked great they are the smoothed running Deere's I've ever put together .Just trying to build this one a little cheaper.

I have done quiet a few sets in farmalls and john deeres. I am currently running a aet in my 60 that turns 1800-1900rpm and never had a problem in two years. Will do for $300. Will have done in two weeks.

YA!YA!YA KNOW! I WOULD NOT ADVISE THEM WELDED ROD'S, THEY WON'T LAST NEER AS LONG. ( CAN'T YOU FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO SCREW THAT WILL BUY YOU A SET OF BILLET ROD'S? ) WOULD NOT FOOL WITH THAT SCHOOLER YOU MIGHT GET THEM THIS TIME NEXT YEAR AND WON,T SAVE ENOUGH TO MAKE UP THE DIFFRENCE! YA KNOW!
