All 8N's don't have an inner seal, and you better also check yer axle for a place for one to ride and seal.

dont need 50 tips just 1 and thats what do i do if there is no seat for the iner axal seal thank you ?
You don't need to have no smartass attitude either.
I know but won't tell you now & hope the rest do the same.

LMAO!!!!!!

Well, we're both kinda needy, aren't we? You need to know if there is a seat for the inner seal. I needed to know what model tractor you have....and so did a couple of other guys. And now we see that you also need an attitude check.

There is a short answer to your question & a long answer. Maybe somebody else will overlook your attitude & give you the short answer. You'll just get the long answer from me: tip # 39. RTFM.
50 Tips

There you go Bob. A new user and making friends hand over fist.
This forum is so pleasant that I have never seen this posted here. Just for you though I will make it a first. RTFM!!

Seems like those 50 tips are getting annoying to someone ever day or two.Might be good idea to scrap them till they are asked for and reprogram your delivery..JMHO

Once again, you ask a stupid question and someone tries to help but you are so frustrated that you cannot see the help that is offered. Bruce uses the 50 tips for those who WISH TO READ THEM - it is a reminder, you aint got to read them, but they are there IN CASE you need them......jfc what is wrong with you , why dont you tell me that you had 1 million dollars on the saints at 31-17 too.

If you knew anything about what you are asking, you would know that 8n and 9n and so have inner and outer seals DEPENDING on the model and year....FORD did make improvements....so if it is an old one......just one pair of seals, if it a "new" one it has 2 sets.

AND btw - learn to type and @#$@# spell - I had to read that there english and translate it into something that I could understand....damn I suck at spelling but that crap is sad: AND I QUOTE

oil on the brakes took it all apart wantinr to put a new inear seal but there is to seat to hammer it in to do i leave it out and only use the outer seal ?

what the hell is INEAR mean ....is that inner???
and then - there is TO seat wtf ????

Like everyone else said, ask a question , be patient and see if someone helps......if someone gives YOU TOO much ( notice I used the correct 2 ) then use that for further info.

I don't know if you are new or not, Bob, but if you don't like the help you are offered here, like the 50 tips that Bruce took the time and effort to write and distribute, I suggest you look elsewhere for assistance.

These people are never anything but helpful; Bruce has been particularly helpful--above and beyond. People are usually as respectful of you as you are of them. I AM NEW HERE, and I'm sure I have irritated some of these guys with my sometimes rediculous questions. I owe my strong running 8N to them.

Don't go away mad, Bob, just go away.

And you don't need a dictionary; I don't think you could read it. Maybe go back to third grade English class.

The people on this forum are the most helpful I"ve seen.Just calm down, take a deep breath, and ask your question as best you can. You"ll get all the help you need.---lha

Bob:

If your tractor is all 1950 8N it should have both inner and outer seals.

If there is no inner seal seat, either you have a pre 1950 8N, a hybrid or someone has changed the axle trumpet. Is the axle machined for an inner seal?

Note: Pre 1950 8Ns (yes, I know it is very late 1949) do not use the inner seal and the axle bearing is lubricated by the differential oil.

Later 8Ns use an inner oil seal in conjunction with an outer grease seal. The axle bearing is lubricated with bearing grease and must be repacked periodically.

Read the Fu**ing Manual
It is seen more on software/technical/computer forums. Fits rather well here though don't you think?
