Barn is all prepped and I hauled some poop out for an hour tonight, didnt make too big a dent but I wasnt planning on hauling any out today any way.. I cant believe how much more chick poo is in there this year, and wet, dont know why. Gonna grow some great corn. Ya know it"s heavy when the back of the skid loader is coming off the ground, and I even had the rear counter weights on. PEW!

Dave; Wonder how that would do on hay fields? Should it be composted first? We have a place near the farm that will bring it over and spread with a truck, side spreader, same one he used for the wood ash. What does it replace for ferilizer?

I had some spread back in the fall,,, I have a field full of chicken bones,,,, makes me wonder if they will bust a tractor tire. chicken farmer told me the sheet was fresh,,, did'n know it still kicked,,, found some whole skeletons are pert neer,,, Buzzards had a field day,,, grass is green

No bird remains in mine, I incinerate my lost birds. The bones will not puncture a tire.

I guess alfalfa and grasses love it, spread thin and then the rain washes it in. With the manure management program, on U of MN recommendations , I should be able to get by with no other fertilizer. I was gonna keep 1/4 of the manure and the rest is sold, but 1/4 is gonna be way more than I need next spring. I definatly am NOT gonna spread it on the snow, I am gonna pile it and let er sit till spring so I can get all the benifits I can, ALOT of ammonia in that stuff this year.
