I recently became proud owner of a TEA20 and the previous owner pointed me in this direction. So far you guys have helped (indirectly) with my first few queries. I now have her stuck in gear after switching off and putting her in gear rather than trust the "park brakes" on a steepish downhill grade while I opened a gate. It"s evening now but first thing tomorrow I"ll give the pry bar / long screwdriver remedy a go. I"m sure it"ll work!

If it is stuck in gear on a hill it is probally just friction holding it in place. If you can pull to the up hill side it"ll probally come out with no problem.

When you park on grade, up or down, and leave the tractor in gear, a fraction of the weight of the tractor (depends on the grade) will load the gears and make it diffiult to shift out of gear. Some times brute force works.Other times I'll push the rear tire in the opposite direction of the down grade and that unloads the gear obx enough to unstick it.

Mabe just put the clutch pedal down and let it move enuf to take the pressure off.

I've done that twice now and before you do any wrench bending, hook your truck to it and pull it backwards a couple of inches.
That should take the 'load' off the gears.
