What Brand/Style Tires

What make and style rear tires came out on a John Deere "H" serial number 39,0XX, what would you replace them with?
I am talking ag tires.

In the late '30's to late '40's the primary tire suppliers to Deere were Goodyear and Firestone, and to some extent Goodrich. Goodyear used the "Sure Grip" pattern, while Firestone used the closed center "Ground Grip" pattern. At this time the closest size would be a 9.5 - 32. They have been available in the BFGoodrich 45 deg pattern (which looks like the Sure Grip) - not sure if they still are. Try www.millertire.com.

Walt - See below my sign-off an update to the App # 3 insofar as tires & wheels are concerned. This is in addition to what Duane is saying - the key being a 45° lug versus the modern 23° lug we see on new tractors. Firestone also had a "Harvest King" that looks sweet on vintage tractors.(PatB)
