what deck for 212

have a 212 john deere with a 38 inch mower deck that needs replacing.i cannot find the model number anyplace on the deck.any ideas where to find model # or a used deck the same size ? any info on this size deck that fits the 212 would be much appreciated.PS checked with jd and i get a blank look. again thanks

Model # 39 fits the 200 series tractors, 38" cutting width.

Model # 47 is the 46" cutting width version.

The serial number is located on the right side (discharge) of the mower and will be on a metal tag, if missing rivets will still be there. To identify if an old "Model 39" look under deck to the rear, dead center will be a roller about 9 to 10" long.If this is not there it will be a new style 38.Also a new style will have guage wheels on all four corners,the Model 39 has them just to the rear and are about 6"in dia. where as the 38's will be about 3" in dia and are about 2" wide.I have a complete 38 spare, what are you needing?
