What does is this lever for ?

Hello again. Can someone tell me what the lever in the circle is for ?

I have a manual ordered but this has arroused my interest this morning.

that is your draft control. when the lever is up, that is position control for normal three point opperation. when it is down, that is for plowing so you have draft. if you don't have a molboard plow, leave it up and forget it.

It's called draft control. I forget which position is which. But, one way, the rear lift bars are either all the way "up" or "down". In the other postition, the rear bars can be positioned any where in between. The power take off must be engaged and the clutch released in order for the lift to work.

Joe, I don't mean to be a stickler, but your description is not entirely correct.

Position control, as jd said, will hold the implement at a constant height anywhere within the lifting range.

Draft control also has full range of motion within the lifting system, but is used to adjust the draft of an ground engaging implement by adjusting the height as the draft increases. It's basically an automated assistant so that you don't have to continually adjust implement height to avoid stalling out (or running out of traction) the tractor.
