what engine do i have?

I was told it is a g149 but it doesn't have 149 in the serial number, this one is -15-7982-r- any info would help. whats the hp?
 
I'm going to agree with the other guys and say you have a "15" engine, just like a D17 might have a "17" engine, or a WD45 might have a "45" engine. In other words- yes, a 149.
My D15 II clearly has 160 stamped in the block.
 
this may be posible if the power unit is in the same year range as the d15 was, could i tell with a compresion test, what is the psi diferences between the two 149 models? this moter is going in my 1960 d14,and does any one know what the last serial numbers are before the d15 came out?
 
Yes it seems like AC did some things on the fly. Like the "series" thing. We didn't know there was any series D17 until, I think it was "series III" was designated. Same with the Gleaner E. Didn't know there were series there until the "III".
